Crab Farming...

Crab fattening in Pulicat provides a sustainable livelihood for coastal communities, especially women and youth. With short culture cycles and high market demand, it offers quick income and supports local entrepreneurship. The practice reduces pressure on wild crab populations and promotes mangrove conservation by integrating pens in natural habitats. Using local resources and traditional knowledge, crab fattening ensures low investment and environmental impact. It strengthens food security, boosts local economies, and complements ongoing coastal restoration and biodiversity conservation efforts.
